About this course

Buoyancy is the foundation of good diving. Everything else — photography, wreck diving, marine life interaction, gas consumption — gets easier when your buoyancy is genuinely dialled in. Most divers think their buoyancy is better than it actually is. An underwater video or a photography session usually tells a different story.

The Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty is basically a focused buoyancy workshop. Two days, four dives, with specific exercises designed to improve hovering, streamlining, finning technique, and position in the water. We look at weighting (most recreational divers are over-weighted), equipment configuration, breathing as a buoyancy tool, and how to read and respond to water density changes.

It's not a flashy course, but divers who take it almost universally report that subsequent dives feel easier and more enjoyable. Better buoyancy means better air consumption, less coral contact, calmer wildlife encounters, and sharper photos. It's genuinely worth the two days.

Guest experiences

Swami Rock is something else entirely. The statues on the reef, the turtles, the sheer amount of life on the wall — I've dived in Thailand, Indonesia, the Red Sea, and this is right up there. The guides know every inch of these reefs. Highly recommended.
